Early life

DJ Cassidy was born and raised in the posh neighborhood of Upper East Side, New York City, New York. He is the son of Jonny Podell, a music agent based in New York, and  Monica Podell. His father is the founder and owner of Podell Talent Agency, one of New York’s most powerful music talent agencies.

 Although his parents divorced when he was barely one year old, Cassidy had a fulfilling childhood that inspired him to pursue music later in life. On his tenth birthday, his parents gifted him two turntables and a mixer, and since then, the little boy knew he wanted to be a DJ. Cassidy has an elder sister named Brittany.
