Pooh Shiesty, formerly known as Lontrell Dennell Williams Jr., was born in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, on 8th November 1999. His parents are Lontrell Williams and Gladys Baines. He had a brother named Terrance Henderson. Pooh Shiesty was raised in the Cane Creek Apartment in the southern part of Tennessee and lived for two years in Pflugerville, Texas. When he returned to Memphis, he went for summer classes to graduate from high school.

Being born in a musical family, where his father Lontrell Williams was a label founder and rapper, Pooh Shiesty had an interest in rapping from a tender age and started his music career at the age of 18. His brother Terrance Henderson was also a rapper, but he succumbed to cancer on 28th February 2021. After graduating from high school, he created a Choppa gang and enhanced his rap skills through freestyle. In 2008, Pooh Shiesty released his first track online under the moniker.
