Bongino was born in Queens, New York, on December,4,1974. He has Italian roots and has a brother who also served in the Secret Service. Information about his childhood is scarce, although he grew up in the hands of an abusive stepfather. He dreamed of becoming a law enforcement officer when he was little because his stepfather feared the police. This dream came true when he joined the New York Police Department later in life.
The conservative went to Archbishop Molloy High School, a public school in Queens, New York. When he graduated High School, he went to Queens College, where he pursued a Bachelors’s degree in Psychology. After graduation, Bongino went back to the same college to pursue a Masters in the same field and later on graduated
Bongino had a thirst for education, and he proceeded to the prestigious Pennsylvania State University to add another master to his name, this time in Business Administration.

Dan Bongino has had an exciting professional life, starting from the New York Police Department as a police officer. After graduating college, Dan joined the law enforcement sector, where he worked between 1994 and 1999.
In 1999, he resigned from NYPD and joined the United States Secret Service. Between 2002 and 2006, he was assimilated into the program and became an instructor for new trainees. Later in the same year, he was selected to join the Presidential Protection Division(PPD)that ensured the security and safety of the then-president George W. Bush.

Dan Bongino is married to Paula Andrea Bongino, a businesswoman. Paula is Colombian, and the two met on a blind date planned by their mutual friends. They later got married in 2003 and are parents to two beautiful daughters, Isabel Bongino, born in 2004, and Amelia Bongino, born in 2012.
Bongino and his family have lived in Severna Park, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, since 2002. In 2015, Dan took his wife and kids and relocated to Palm City, Florida, where they currently live.
In September 2020, Dan revealed that he had a tumor on his throat through his podcast, and he was yet to confirm if it was malignant or benign. He later disclosed that one of his fans, a nurse discovered the lump on one of his shows.
He flew to New York to have the tumor checked by specialists. In October, he confirmed the sad news that he had Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a type of cancer that presents as enlarged lymph nodes under the neck, armpits, and groin.
In July 2021, Bongino declared that he had defeated the lymphoma through extensive treatments by his doctors.
