Early Life
Jimmy Ray Flynt was born on June 20, 1948, on Lake Road, Salyersville, and Magoffin County, Kentucky. His parents were Larry Clanton Flynt Sr., born on August 16, 1919, and worked as a World War II Veteran and a Sharecropper. He later died on July 1, 2005. And mother Edith Arnett was born on August 13, 1925, and was a homeworker, and she died on March 29, 1982.

Jimmy is the youngest of the three siblings, with the eldest being Larry Flynt, born on November 1, 1942, and recently died on February 10, 2021, from a stroke. In 1967 in Dayton, Ohio, the Flynt brothers stated ‘The Hustler Club’ what later would be their long journey into the nightclub industry. Jimmy and Larry Flynt had envisioned a chain of nightclubs that would later become a reality after opening another club in January 1970 at Columbus, Ohio, and Cincinnati, respectively. These exclusive clubs were named ‘The Hustler Clubs.’
Later on, in January 1972 and July 1972, their chain of clubs would later expand to cover more regions, including Cleveland, Toledo, and Akron. The two brothers were charged in Cincinnati, Ohio, on April 17, 1998, with 15 accounts of pandering obscenity. The accusation brought the caught indicated that they were running an illegal business in their enterprise ‘Hustler Store.’ They also sold obscene videotapes, which were among the accusations. They both faced more than 20 years in prison.
